Great piece Matt! I really like the distinction between “assisted” and “inspired.” It sometimes helps to point out that “inspiration” is a much stronger notion, so that if God can *inspire* Peter to write inerrant books, of course, he can *assist* him and his successors when it comes to protecting the Deposit of Faith.

I contacted you a few days ago about a debate that happened on Tuesday April 3rd on the topic of “Does scripture prove the Catholic Church is true?” . This is a link to that debate,,,,

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcHgGPAincs&t=1315s

Traditional Catholic apologist, Mr Gerry Matatics, along with several other Catholics had taken part in that debate against the protestant calvinist/reformist radio talk show host, Matt Slick. They agreed at the end of that debate to have more debates lasting for the next several weeks on each Tuesday evening, and on a variety of different theological topics. The debates will begin at 9pm eastern/8pm central. if you would like to participate in those debates, then you can simply go to CARM.org just before the debate begins and go to the right side of the page. There you can either click on the link to join in and participate in the debate, or you can click on the link to watch the live stream of the debate. If you choose to watch, and then later during the debate you decide you’d like to join in, then again you can simply click on that “join” link at the right hand side of the website called CARM org. (Note: Next Tuesday’s debate will be on the topic of “Justification”)

MN: “and all the assembly kept silence” (Acts 15:12).

Me: And that’s supposed to prove infallibility? You need to get your head examined.
