I am reading Theology and Sanity for the first time and am astonished at how thoroughly and brilliantly Sheed examines every part of the fundamental relationship of God and man and then distills his discussion into very economical terms. For example, after discussing faith at length in various places throughout the book and then devoting a chapter to it, he gives his reader a simple statement easily remembered and very effective: “It is simply the acceptance of God as our teacher.” The book is full of such jewels. I am eager to go back and reread it!

I have only just come across Frank Sheed through the internet and was wondering where I might buy his books in the UK.

I suspect that the Catholic Truth Society would have his books. Also, Ignatius Press in USA.

Thanks so much! Great article. (The link for “Catholic Evidence Training Outlines” doesn’t work.)

You have a typo: Sheed instead of Sheen when mentioning “Life of Christ” by Fulton Sheen.
